ALUMNI REUNION FRIDAY AUGUST 24th
Spread the word to register for the AQSOSA Alumni. Are you in touch with former students of Aquinas or Star of the Sea, teachers or friends of the school. Help us by reaching out and letting those know of the up and coming Alumni Reunion in August. With over 50 years of graduates, some 8,000 past students to contact, you may understand our request for assistance. Particular celebration is with the classes of 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998, 2008 with a special invitation to the class of 2018. Further detail will follow as we get closer to the event, though mark this now as a "must attend" social event of the year in your diary.

If you would like to assist the Alumni by becoming a Year Delegate, with a focus on reaching out to those in your School year (to make them aware of the Alumni website and to register contact details) we would like to hear from you. Preferably if we could get two people for each year (we need 100 people – let you be one of them 😊) to help track down past students, that would make short work of it. It is our goal to establish an Alumni that provides a meaningful connection to the past for former students and an opportunity to bring former students together through events that create a bit of fun.
Further news:It was a fruitful meeting of the Alumni Board this month. We continued advancing the charter through your contributions. A special warm welcome to two new members:
Jenny Longrigg - Class of 1998- Jenny has wonderful experience in developing Alumni being the driver of the Griffith University Alumni with over 200,000 members. Jenny is a wealth of information on Alumni best practice and I am sure the AQSOSA development will be thankful for her valued contributions going forward. Jenny is also a member of the Australian Alumni body that looks at developing and sharing industry best practice.
Stuart Sanford- Class of 1991- Stuart brings to the Alumni strong Corporate Project Management Skills being a Director of Wyndham Resorts. Stuarts steady hand will be a valuable guide in rolling out the Alumni's services to our Group and I thank you in advance for your ongoing involvement.
A further Alumni meeting will be held on the third Thursday of April 19th7pm in the School Library.

There are a number of roles that you may support the Alumni development including:
Sponsorship - There are many valued projects that we require assistance in putting together fund raising strategies and reaching out directly to key former students for support.
Event Management -We are looking to hold a few events this year and all assistance is greatly appreciated to make these events memorable. An example is building a business breakfast event bringing together former students and Gold coast businesses.
Archivist / Librarian-To assist in collating the rich history of the school and sharing it via the Alumni site.
Journalist/Researcher -We would like to develop a "Former Student of Note" program where we research and invite those that have achieved success in their lives to share their experiences with the school via video interview. This role would also assist in creating a nomination of Alumni to receive a coveted "Life Alumni Award" to be presented at the Alumni gathering proposed in August. More of this later.
