Hospitality & Textiles

The Aquinas College Hospitality department is a vibrant and innovative department with a wide range of subjects. In the junior years, students will study both a food and a textiles compartment in the Food Technology subjects. In year 9 students can study Food Technology and or textiles for a semester.

In year 10 Hospitality, the focus changes from domestic food, nutrition, health and safety, to procedures used in the hospitality industry. Students research coffee shops and multicultural cookery and visit the RACV Royal
Pines Resort for their High Tea experience. 

Students can study Fashion Design in year 10. Students will extend their practical skills in using the sewing machine and work on projects with a strong focus on sustainable practices and reuse of materials.  

In the senior years, students have the opportunity to continue their pathway with a variety of exiting OP, Non-OP and or Vocational Education/certificate course subjects. These subjects include Hospitality Studies, Hospitality Practices , Certificate III in Early Childhood hosp 4.JPG

Education and Care and from 2016 we will also offer Hospitality related certificate courses in year 11 and 12. 

We have an excellent relationship with the local hospitality industry. Our senior students complete industry work experience at RACV Royal Pines Resort and at Palazzo Versace.​
